2015 Craft Research Fund Travel Grants

For nearly ten years, The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (CCCD) has supported the expansion of craft scholarship in the United States by providing travel grants to craft scholars invited to speak at the annual College Art Association conference. CCCD is broadening this impact by offering grants of up to $1000 to scholars invited to present craft-focused papers at any scholarly conference. Applications will be accepted year-round for bi-annual review.

The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design Presents Loving After Lifetimes of All This

Asheville, NC – Opening at The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design’s (CCCD) Benchspace Gallery & Workshop, January 30, 2015, Loving After Lifetimes of All This is an exhibition exploring the intersections of craft, (self-)care, apprenticeship, and survival within the practices of historically disadvantaged populations.

The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design launches “Craft City”

The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (CCCD) debuts a new program series this summer that honors Asheville as “Craft City.” At three outdoor pop-up studios this summer (July 7, August 4, and September 1) people of all skill levels and backgrounds can make a take-home craft under the guidance of a visiting artist.
