The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design does not discriminate against any individual or group of individuals on the basis of age, color, disability, gender, national origin, race, religion, sexual orientation or veteran status.

SECTION 504 OF THE REHABILITATION ACT 

In September 1973, Congress passed Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Section 504 states: “No otherwise qualified handicapped individual in the United States shall, solely on the basis of her/his handicap, be excluded from participation or be denied benefits of or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.” The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) gives individuals with disabilities civil rights protection that is similar to that provided to all individuals on the basis of race, sex, national origin, and religion. The act guarantees equal opportunity in employment, public accommodations, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications.

Consistent with the ADA and Section 504, the policy of The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design, Inc. is that no qualified person may be discriminated against on the basis of her or his disability.

CCCD to Host Public Meeting on Affordable Housing Solutions for Artists

On March 22 from 7-8:30 pm, The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design (CCCD) and Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce will host a public meeting on affordable housing solutions for artists, craftspeople and makers. The meeting will provide the public with an opportunity to engage with and learn from Artspace, a national non-profit organization based in Minneapolis, MN that specializes in creating, owning and operating affordable housing and studio/business space for artists and creative sector businesses.
