| (01/15/08): Checking in | | I have been very busy in the studio over the last couple months. I have the chance to go to Thailan and Japan in March and decided to take it. I'm looking forward to all the research I'll be able to do. I'm hoping to observe the reaction of western tourists to the human/animal relationships in a culture totally different from our own. I will keep everyone updated ! |
| (09/20/07): #2 | Now summer is coming to an end things are coming into perspective a little easier. The university of the arts has offered me a visiting artist position for this school year. I'm the studio manager of roselli's pottery, a production studio that manufactures kiln stilts. It's not the greatest job but it's tolerable. I'm experimenting with feathers thrown on the wheel. I traveled to Pittsburgh to the National Aviary, and to the Second Change Animal Rescue in Gaithersburg MD. I got to watch the women working there cut all the feathers off a pigeon who had somehow gotten itself covered in white latex paint. |
| (09/20/07): #3 | Here is a detail of a piece I made earlier this summer, it is one of five. I was thinking a lot about collections and the strange things I used to carry around when I was younger. It ended up taking a lot longer than I had anticipated because I had to attach every zipper tooth individually. |
| (07/30/07): First entry | | It has taken me a while to update this journal as I have been very busy. I moved into my studio! I've been working on some new ideas and I'll have pictures of my most recent work up soon.
